How to check status of green card production?

My wife removed conditions on her permanent residency at an ROC interview at the Newark Field Office on Oct. 8, 2013. Is there a way for us to check for when her green card will be made? Will we receive anything in the mail before the green card?

The USCIS Case Status page has not been updated since Aug. 2012 and says we are in initial review even though we are approved. We are also signed up for text and e-mail alerts and have not received a single update that way. I think the text & e-mail alerts are not working for us. Any thoughts?

I think it varies. You might just have to wait it out, it'll arrive soon.

I have read about lots of people (June filers) getting approval letters but no change in their status online. When I received my approval letter, there was no change online and no text/email alerts. Five or six days later, I received text/email about card production.

ROC

05-18-13 90-day window starts

06-07-13 (Day 0) Mailed I-751 to VSC, filed 23 days after window

06-10-13 (Day 3) VSC received package (according to USPS Signature Confirmation)

06-14-13 (Day 7) Check cashed

06-15-13 (Day 8) NOA received; dated 6-11-13

06-20-13 (Day 13) Received Biometrics

07-15-13 (Day 25) Biometrics appointment

08-22-13 (Day 62) File transferred from VSC to CSC

09-05-13 (Day 76) Touched

10-10-13 (Day 111) RoC approved!

10-15-13 (Day 116) Received I-797 approval letter

On one of my many calls to the USCIS Service Center, I asked the same thing: why is my case status showing for *months* at a time? Their answer: they only update the online case statuses once a month. dry.png

After I got approved (September 30th) I didn't see a thing until October 21st: I got an update that they had ordered production of my card (yay!). Then this morning (at around 4:00am) I got an email saying they had mailed my card today (October 25th). double yay!!

So for months of no status change, once they start these things up, the updates come flying in.

Hope this helps a bit--and congrats re: your recent approval!!

Small update: this morning, I got an email stating the USPS had picked up my card and that I should receive it within 7 days. They also provided a USPS tracking #.

Wanted you to know so that you know what to expect. After months of nothing happening (if you see my posts here, they went wayyyy over processing time, I had an RFE and an interview-sigh), all of these happy updates are a bit overwhelming.
