We will be out of the country for just over a month in Jan/Feb. I feel quite confident that we will get the interview during that time. Has anybody had experience with changing a date? Did it get rescheduled soon or months away?

Thanks.

I would probably make an infopass appointment and discuss this situation with a officer. It would be horrible and a right pain to miss an appointment.

I 130 & I129F (K3) and AOS info in timeline

If you try to reschedule your appointment you may end up with a denial letter for your AOS..... this has happened to a few on here who have tried to change the date of their appointment.... it would be better to change the date of your trip.... Make an infopass appointment and discuss it with an immigration officer.. but in most cases they will only do it for life and death reasons... going on vacation is not the sort of thing they will reschedule for...

Good Luck

How easy is it for Hell to freeze over?!!

There have been several people on this site who have tried to do that and found that their paperwork was not processed correctly. As a result, they were denied the AOS because they did not show up for the initial interview date. From there on in, it gets pretty messy. One has to file a Motion to Reopen, to the best of my understanding, and the position of the non-USC gets quite tenuous.

I don't think anyone here would recommend trying to reschedule an interview except under completely unavoidable circumstances. However, it's your call!

I wouldn't even try to reschedule it. For me, that interview is the first priority, if I were lucky enough to have the date already.

Good Luck
