Canada Non-Resident

Good Morning,

I am a Canadian citizen living and working in the US for the last 2 years. I have never worked in Canada and thus had no income there. (I left after college). I am a green card holder in the US. I was wondering is there anything I have to do when I left Canada?

I've read after 183 days, you are deemed a non-resident. Since I have absolutely no ties there, is there anything I have to do or am I automatically a non-resident of Canada?

No. Went through the immigration process.

Canada isn't like the USA where you have to pay taxes even if you work elsewhere in the world. I'm not sure what kind of information you're looking for. Unless you renounce it in writing, if you became a Canadian citizen, you will always be one. After not residing in Canada for 183 days (like you've stated) you're deemed a non-resident in every province and territory, making you ineligible for health care or other benefits.

Thanks a lot for the response. What I'm essentially wondering is whether I have to notify anybody that I don't live there or whether it is an automatic thing.

Nope you don't need to do a thing. Only thing I had to do when I left was notify my bank because I still had some investments in there and needed to update them to my new address. As far as notifying anything immigration or government wise, no, there is nothing you need to do...
