So our marriage is complete, certificate is in hand. I am preparing to file our I-130 (I am just waiting for both of us to move to our new, permanent domiciles).

I am ready to send in, but I had a few questions left:

1. Since I cannot send in any joint bank account receipts, etc. (we've only live together for about 1 and 1/2 months at her family house) I am sending in other evidence of my trips to India and our relationship, plane tickets, receipts. etc. How much is enough...or too much? I have been to India twice since we met in 2011 and each time I kept ALL of the receipts....I will be including all the receipts for planes, hotels, and wedding/engagement rings, but should I include visits to electronic stores and drug stores as well?

2. We have tons and tons of emails, Skype chats, and FB chats. How much should I include? I don't want the packet to get too big. Should I just do the last year?

3. If I am to include hundreds of pages of chat logs, how do I include them in the packet? You're supposed to use paper clips but we have too many chat logs for that.

4. I only have my "short form" 1 page birth certificate. The VJ instructions say "front and back" of the birth certificate. Am I supposed to send in the long form? If so I will just use my passport.

Finally, anything to watch out for that a lot of people miss? Thanks for all your help!

It sounds good to me but if you have pictures of the wedding and you with her family, I believe you will be set. To answer how much is to much. I can't answer that for you. We sent a page a day of our chat logs since the time I sent the petition till a week to his interview and I still wonder if we should have sent more, but guess fiance and I will find out when they call him for another interview date! I do wish y'all luck!

Just send photocopy with I-130 Package.

You only require to send certified/original copy at NVC stage.

Please note, alot of people in India do not understand the term " Certified ". All they understand " notarized ". So it is best to send original copy at NVC stage to avoid any delay for your visa process. Your original documents will be returned at the time of interview.

Hi. I didn't have any joint properties or account so me and my husband sent a lot of other proofs: pictures in different places even with family members and friends, many plane tickets, an affidavit of support made by my pastor saying we were also organizing the catholic wedding, some screenshots of skype that showed many video-callings (in every screenshot you could see more callings in more consecutive days, I sent a screenshot for every month), an envelope of a letter with both our names as recepients.

- Civil wedding: September 10th, 2012

- I130 sent to the USCIS in Chicago on January 2013, while my husband was deployed

- Interview at the consulate in Naples, Italy in August 2013

- In the US since November 18th, 2013

- Green card in my mailbox on January 9th, 2014
