Hi Guys

I have my interview coming up here shortly, I need to know if I will need to bring my previous fax returns with me?

The reason I am asking I got divorced and my POS ex husband did not give me any copies of the returns from the years we filed.

I tried to get the transcripts online but it won't work and the government is shutdown so I am unable to call the IRS.

How important is it to have all my tax returns?

I do have the last one due to filing on my own but that's it.

Thanks in advance.

You can go to the place where you filed your taxes they might be able to give you copies of your tax returns. If you did not send them with your application the officer will ask you for those copies in the interview. Good luck.

I am assuming that you didn't submit tax returns when you applied for the N400.

Tax returns are very important. If the federal government is still shutdown at the time of the interview I would say that you have a very good excuse. It is not your fault that you are unable to get them.

I would explain this to the officer, depending on his personality, he would either ask you to 1) send them to him later (RFE) 2) approve you.

let's hope for the 2nd one.
