Twelve years ago when I was young and thought I knew what I wanted in a woman, I married a woman I thought would be the right girl for me. She came over on a K-1 visa, and we married. She became a US Citizen, and we divorced over a year ago.

Now I have met someone who is much more suitable who happens to live overseas as well. The I-129F, Part A, Question 11 asks if I have filed for this or any previous fiancee before. The problem is I don't have my previous spouse's filing information, and I am not on good terms to obtain it. Should I give as much information as I know, which is not so much, or is there a way to find out this number? Since she is a US citizen now, is it even relevant?

I want things to move as quickly as possible, so I don't want it delayed unnecessarily.

Thanks!

If you happen to have the NOA2 from that relationship, the "A" number is listed there. Without "all" the nformation, you can only list what you have. You know the routine. If USCIS wants more, they'll send an RFE!

I had a similar situation and didn't have much information from my 1st marriage. I provided as much as I could: date and place of marriage, ex-wife's name, date of divorce, and her SSN which I got off an old tax return. I also provided a paragraph of explanation stating why I couldn't give specific details. I had no problems and the K1 was approved in good timeframe.
