Bags allowed at the US embassy?

It's been a few years since I went to the London embassy, so are bags stills allowed? All I will have in my bag is my documents, a book and some spare clothes. If not, can you store whole bags at the pharmacies nearby that offer storage options?

Yep bags are definitely allowed! I took a huge handbag with me to mine, i had to put all my electronics and liquids in the pharmacy but the actual bag, books, clothes etc. is perfectly fine to bring in

[July 29th 2013] Case forwarded to US Embassy, London
[August 8th 2013] Packet 3 sent (before received)

[August 9th 2013] Packet 3 received
[August 13th 2013] Medical

[August 16th 2013] CEAC updates - London logs my medical results

[August 20th 2013] - CEAC update - London logs my packet 3

[August 23rd 2013] I call DoS and they tell me my interview date, (2 weeks since I sent ds-2001)

[August 27th 2013 CEAC update - London dispatches packet 4]

[August 29th 2013] Packet 4 received
[september 24th 2013] Interview - Refused due to passport and birth certificate condition

[september 26th 2013] Emergency appt at HM Passport Office London - New Passport and Birth Certificate in hand
[september 30th 2013] DX collects passport and birth certificate

[October 3rd] - Docs delivered to Embassy

[October 10th] - London Approves and Issues our Visa!!

[October 16th 2013] 4.00pm - Visa in my hand, 11pm POE -Newark

So an ipod wouldn't actually be allowed to taken into the medical?

My medical will probably be in a few weeks so I am researching as much as possible. Ok, so I am guessing a camera and my ipod will need to be in storage then. How far is the pharmacy? Are the lockers secure? How much does it cost?

The medical is not at the Embassy. There are no restrictions on what you can take into the Knightsbridge clinic - within reason of course! ;-)

09/06/2013 - File for Removal of Conditions
10/01/2013 - Biometrics for ROC
02/03/2014 - Card production email received

02/17/2014 - 2nd card production email received

02/28/2014 - 10 year Green card received

The medical is not at the Embassy. There are no restrictions on what you can take into the Knightsbridge clinic - within reason of course! ;-)

Opps my bad!!! But yes it's good to know about the embassy restrictions too since I am expecting my interview this year lol :)

As said above you can take pretty much what you want to the medical. As for the embassy my view was to take nothing but paperwork in a folder. Left my phone and all that sort of stuff at home. No electronics means just that, no key fobs, nothing.

The people in the pharmacy (Ghoulds) were very knowledgeable and professional.

He assured me my tube of lip gloss would be allowed (didn't believe him) and my house keys were allowed ( didn't believe him).

He showed me a poster of what was and wasn't allowed and low and behold he was right. As long as the make up u are bringing is less than 100ml and the keys are not magnetic/electric (whatever car keys are made of) u can bring em.

In my giant handbag I had a book. Lip gloss. House keys. Emergency earrings and my empty purse with just bank.cards in. And my earphones.

I handed over for the pharmacy my phone. Perfume. And Ipod.

Seemed very secure and professional. No complaints
