Birth certificate - what info must it contain?

Hi all,

I have been lurking on this forum for some time now, hoping to learn more about the K1 process my fiancé and I are currently going through.

My question is: for my birth certificate which I will later on need to take for my interview, what is the information that is NECESSARY to have on the certificate? My birth certificate does not have much information on it except my parents name and my birth date and I am scared it won't be good enough.

They just wanted to see that you are registered or its your identification. I think that is fine. Goodluck.

What country you're from? Some countries have short and long versions of BC available and it is usually the long version thats required for visa purposes.

I am from Tibet. Birth certificates are not common here! And it might not be possible to get a lengthier one because there are no records of my birth...

I see. In that case you'll need to go with what you have. Having parents name on it is a goo sign it will be sufficient.
