My case is at the embassy after being reaffirmed. I was asked to send a new I-864 Affidavit of Support. The embassy sent me a letter saying my I-864 was fine, then they sent me an email saying I needed a co-sponsor. Then they sent me an email saying they had made a mistake that I didn't need a co-sponsor, then they sent my

senator an email saying I needed a co-sponsor because they would not accept my child support income.

Believe me my when I say I was very upset that they kept changing their minds when the instructions for the I-864 say you can use alimony or child support as income

I have a co-sponsor and we are going to file his tax return tomorrow. He makes $80,000 a year but when he files he usually takes a lot of deductions that would

bring him below the poverty guideline for a family of three. As a favor to me he will not take all of his usual deductions.

My question is to be assured that the embassy will accept his I-864 how much money should he earn over the $24,412 stated in the I-864P guidelines?
