Hi!

Just wondering if any of you heard of the possibility of requesting a temporary hold in your application, and how to go about it. I know most of you want it done as soon as possible. In my case (long story), the process so far has been a nightmare to the point that (as I am not in an immediate hurry or need), I am thinking the best thing would be to wait till next year.

As to this date (6 months since I applied), it looks like they put me in "limbo", I was considering not to inquire ANY MORE, and keep waiting. If next year I still heard nothing then contact them. This option of course makes me look careless or uninterested, so that's way I am asking if there is a way to "officially" request a temporary hold.

Any input will be very much appreciated.

wow! This is sort of unusual.

how far along are you in the process?

I would say to go for it, since it is already six months since the moment you applied. Most cases are resolved within 6 months, so you are right at that point. Why do you want to back out?

I think it would be more difficult to go back than to finish the process. As my friend would say in these cases. Put some hair on your chest and finish the process. (no offense)

Thanks for your advice, and no... no offense.

Is not to back out, is just to wait for awhile. I have not found anything on the "official request". I guess it is unusual as you mentioned.

My story is long and boring, I see in my future even more problems, when the one thing I thought it wouldn't happen, having all the spring and summer to do it, now it might. I am talking the bad weather and closed roads. I live 3 hours away from my local office, in a rural area where in winter we get very often many road closings due to snow or ice. With my luck SO FAR, I see my appts being when I can not travel, more stress and more problems... I am just too stressed out. How far along Iam...? Waiting for biometrics still.

Sorry for the rant. Thanks for listening.

Why didntyou get help from your congressman? They can help as a matter of fact USCIS will speed it up as long as they are way past the regular time. Suggestions from me: make infopass, request and call your congressman for help. Don't back out now some you came this far. Good luck.
