I didn't know you guys had meetings?? where is it going to be? Seattle?

thanks guys for the welcome!

Lili, I live in Tacoma. about 45 minutes south of Seattle. We should meet sometime!! I am feeling a little lonely since I moved from Virginia after 2 years as an au pair... no more friends.

There is a VJ MENA meet-up coming up in April. You should come. I couldn't make it to the last one but I heard it was oodles of fun!

tu as déjà réussie à te faire envoyer du fromage ou de la charcuterie aux US? :wow:

J'ai essayée une fois d'envoyer de la charcuterie à mon mari (sans noter cet aliment), et mon colis a été ouvert, et ils ont laissés un papier expliquant que cela était interdit aux US. Le reste du colis était arrivé à destination.

I have another question concerning AOS.

I though I had to fill in the medical form (I693vaccination part) and then I understood I didn't have to.

Now I'm unsure what I'm supposed to do. it seems like it depends what the consulate send in the brown enveloppe, and also on you local center (some really wanting to see I 693A). Given what I've read on the AOS section I can't make up my mind. what did u guys do?

merci merci merci :)

What I did: I didn't fill it out but I think I will get a RFE (and it's strange that I haven't gotten one yet) At that time I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do so I figured I wouldn't do anything and see what they say in the RFE.

What I think we have to do: have the vaccination part of the form filled out by a civil surgeon, but only the vaccination part because K1 holders don't have to do the other ones. That's what is written in the official instructions for the I-693.

I had my 693 filled out by a civil surgeon.

I didn't want to pay hundreds of dollars, so I went through the one recommended on VJ: Dr Arnold in Texas ($20).

At the time of filling, I was really confused with the new requirements (HPV and TB test), and didn't do the HPV, but Dr Arnold called me and told me that it was required...so I did it.

It is one solution, but it depends if you want to do the HPV or not (by now, I still don't know if you can avoid it or not! ). It is what I did, but someone may answer you better.

I didn't send my vaccination. Basically what I think will happen is that when I'll recive my interview letter it will say to bring with me my medical! But I don't think it's a problem for AP or EAD. Cécile got everything without an RFE, and I got my AP for now. From what I read too sometime they don't even bother to ask the vaccination, it depends of what country. And also depends of who 's in charge of your file. Some are more "tatillon que d'autre"! ;)

Bon courage avec toute cette paperasse!

Oh, and I forget to say that I did that because I don't want to do HPV! hope by the time I'll get my interview I'll be 27! lol
