Still waiting for Packet 3

I'm not sure if I'm being impatient? But NVC states the following and we have not received Packet 3 via email yet? I would also love to hear from others nearing the end of their process what is in Packet 3 so I can have everything ready for John to send in.

We still have not received anything from Johannesburg, and I have tried calling several times over the last couple of days with no luck getting through. Is there any other way to check the status of Packet 3?

Email them, we have been emailing them questions prior to even having our NVC case number and they answer quickly and very helpful. Even throwing in hints to help us. If you want to know what is in packet 3 I recommend reading the Consulate info on the protal, we accessed all the forms listed we could and filled them out, so we have what they may want and dont have so much to do when we get the packet if they want others too. I'm about to ship the papers I know he needs for the interview in origianl forms. We use my Amazon Cloud Drive for the rest, so he can print them there. Also that way he has access to them at all times.

4 weeks is maximum time to wait to transfer the case from NVC to concern embassy, but there is no harm u can contact ur embassy through email or phone them..

I just sent him his binder with all original forms and a flash drive with all of the forms filed out. But great idea about the cloud, didn't think about that. I sent an email last week, and have not heard back, and also left a voicemail at the Consulate. It's been a long 5 months not being with him, forever cannot come soon enough for me.

Oh wow, sorry about that. They have been answering our emails within a day if not the same day. That isnt good news that maybe they are ignoring some emails? And I love the cloud, I add the files and when I am sleeping he can fille them in and save them. We check them togethter for accuracy. He also can listen to my music, hehe, bonus for him. May I ask you you shipped them with and aproxiamtely the size and cost? Trying to mentally prepare for the sticker shock.

Extremely expensive shipping to SA. This time I could fit it in the large flat rate box so it was 78.00. Typically if I send him stuff it doesn't so it's around 100.00. I try to keep the boxes at 12x12x12 but they also go by weight. Takes a solid 7 days from here to there.

Maybe I am emailing the wrong email address and calling the wrong number??

We used the email on here, consularjohannesburg@state.gov . So you shipped with US Postal with not trouble? I was worried because a letter I sent almost 2 months ago still isnt there, lol. Even the post office lady told me to go to Fedex it was safer. ugh, just want to hide in the bathtub until this is over. lol I feel shell shocked from all the stress.

I have always shipped USPS and never had a lick of trouble. Should take 10 days maximum.

I finally got to speak with somebody at the Consulate. She said he should get his packet this week but if nit call back next week. I called twice this morning 1 successful and 1 message the first try. Also emailed them. I have butterflies from all the frustration but knowing we are almost there is comforting for sure.

I hope you dont mind if I bother you with questions when you get the packet, hehe. Trying to get a better grasp on how all this works.

Just want to verify how packet is sent back, mail or email. And if the forms list on here is correct and if they have gone to the online form DS-260 instead of printed DS-230.

Not at all! If I can help in anyway, please let me know!! The lady I spoke with said they had my information and as soon as they received they physical packet from NVC, which she said it could be in clearance, then they will email out Packet 3. If we don't have it this week to check back next Monday.

Still waiting for Packet 3. I don't understand why/how others get theirs the day the Consulate receives it from NVC, which seems to be in 4 days. I emailed again. They replied this week stating as soon as they get the physical file they send out packet 3.
