Hello, hello VJ'ers!! I said a few weeks ago my petition for K-1 visa wouldn't be approved until hell froze over (early April filers). I got the text this morning from either the devil himself or USCIS (don't know which), and it said we are approved. Must be -50 degrees below zero down there and 100 feet of snow and ice! Hahahaha. WOW, its been alittle stressful and nerve-racking since April. I feel like a 1000 pound boulder has been lifted off my shoulder. I cant get too excited now, cause I know the next part of this JOURNEY is work also, and more WAITING. At least I'll be with honey soon, as I leave for Cebu in 42 days. I will be living there in Cebu for 6 months until we fly back to Seattle (POE) on March 30. 2014. God Bless Us All, and Thank You everyone for all your help, wisdom, and words of encouragement.

Congrats! The finish line is just around the corner!

Our NOA2 took 6 months & 5 days. I was told about the approval over the phone (coz I kept calling every day).

I literally cried. cray5ol.gif

So I can relate to your op very well.

Again - Congrats!

Congrats! The next part isn't near as much waiting, in fact once you get your MNL # you could be done with the interview in about 4-6 weeks, which isn't what you should do being you don't plan to leave the Phils until March next year.

Remember the petition is only good for 4 months, but you can contact the embassy to get extensions another 4 months at a time, up to a year total. Then the 6 month validity of the visa is tied to the date of the medical, so don't do the medical too early either.

Thanks to all and especially you Hank. You are the King and expert here. Yes, I have to strategically do everything now with times in consideration since my flight to leave is March 30th. I bought this flight 2 months ago when I purchased my roundtrip ticket. Now I gotta hope I can get Honey Gina on the same flight as me home, or at least to Seattle (POE). I will keep in mind not to schedule the medical too early. Does anyone know what dates they are currently scheduling now for medicals? October? November?? Once again Thanks!

Medical is a walk-in deal, you can pre-register online to save time upon arrival but that is about it. Embassy website recommends 5-7 days before the interview for doing the medical.

When I (tried) booked our flights I had to call the airline directly being my wife's flight was one way, I got my flight handled online no issue but the computer did a serious hiccup when I tried to add a one-way with it. The airline was very helpful getting my wife on the same return flight as me, once that was handled I could reserve seating.
