Good afternoon one and all, I was hoping that someone out there might be able to offer up some advice. Our I-129f petition was filed and date stamped 03/27/06. In May the CSC contacted my fiance Carrie for further information regarding new legislation involving FBI checks (sorry for being non-specific but she handled this). Fingerprints were taken, forms were submitted and all was well. On 07/11/06 CSC returned our petition to the Atlanta district office for further enquiries ( I had been turned round at ATL in January for coming over once too often on the visa waiver). According to the Atlanta district office, all enquiries were met and they returned our petition back to California on 09/19/06.... or so we thought. Niether know the location of our petition. If any inquiries are made at either office reagrding the location and status of our petition, we are met with callous shoulder shrugging indifference, a refusal to accept responsibilty with each processing center finger pointing and accusing the other of failure. Carrie was even informed by one service center employee that she should be "more patient" in these matters! More patient!?! This process has so far lasted 8 1/2 months. It would appear that our petion has disappeared in a bureaucratic nightmare, once approved in the US it may take anything up 3 months for me to be blessed with an interview in London and some cheeky paper-clip pilot asks us to be more patient?! The stress levels have become intolerable. A lawyer has now been dispatched simply to locate our petiton.

Is it normal for this process to take so long? We're looking at a minimum of a year from application to interview.

Can anything be done to expediate our petition? Also, can I apply for a holiday visa to allow me to travel back to the States (the visa waiver is a no-no since I was turned around back in January) and if I do apply would it be successful? By Christmas, Carrie would have flown to the UK 5 times and I'm desperate to take the pressure off her. Please, any advice that anyone can offer would be gratefully received.

Many thanks.

Alex

I would suggest that Carrie contact her Congressman or House Representative. She will need to submit a privacy waiver so that they may make inquiries on her behalf. This has helped others who have been given the run around like you have. I'm so sorry that you guys have been going through this! Its so ridiculous! Good luck.

oh still be...................

very patient...but u need to do something. Ur in good company here, hopefully, other members will help u with this problem, just to enlighten u and letting u know that u r not alone having such problems. Regarding the time, delays and others, it's normal, specially if there's something wrong with the papers or there's lacking in the documents. if not, the problem falls to the people who review/do the processing, but there might be reasons for that. Let 's just pray and remain calm.

wish u luck in ur journey. more help will come, just dont hesitate to ask.

as for me, i am just inspiring u to go on, hold on and best of everything...

I agree, there is a specific proceedure your fiances congressman can follow to initiate an inquiry into the status of your petition, and it invoves your fiance signing a form akin to an 'authorization to relase information' (authorizing the USCIS to relase information about your case to your congressman). 8 and a half months IS a long time to be waiting, and is well outside the normal processing times for an I-129f, even given your particular circumstances IMHO. Others have followed this route with a successful outcome.

Good Luck!

Bill
