Divorce in Pakistan can be dissolved through Talaq or Khula . Talaq divorce must be registered with the Union Council. Khula divorce must be granted by the Court. Uscis recognize "customary divorce such as Talaq, but most of States in the US do not recognize as a valid divorce. If one day he wants to get married in the US probably he won't be able to do that, I mean he has to find a State that recognizes customary divorce, but if he gets married in Pakistan and his wife applies for k1 or CR1 visa then his Talaq divorce will be accepted by Uscis if he registered the Talaq divorce with the Union Council.

Yes he has the official divorce decree issued from the government and is on record.

Hi Sandraj,

His divorce is registered and issued by the government of Pakistan. Union council serve his wife couple of notices - it was a no show and the divorce was granted. We live in VA, do you know if it is acceptable here in the courts?
