I've seen references to a website to check but I'm not sure which one or what key should be used to access our case. Any help would be most welcome! We're probably in AP because there were some loose ends that needed to be taken care of with the medical but it would be nice to know the exact status.

Thanks! It looks like my fiancee is in AP as expected though oddly enough her son's status shows as "Ready" and seems to indicate that the interview has not yet occurred. I am going to have to assume that's only an oversight or a result of his paperwork being ok while hers is still pending.

Got an email from the embassy today that my fiancee has been officially approved and that the visa will be issued soon. The status on the CEAC website is now showing as "Ready" for my fiancee as well so I think it will happen soon :-).
