It is more on the country of original citizenship, it seems. For example, China forces a citizen to renounce THEIR citizenship if they become a USC. But I reckon the PI doesn't do that.

IMHO, I would imagine that the PI doesn't because of the lost of revenue that the Filipino would not be sending or spending in the PI. In other words, if a Fil Am couple are traveling back and forth from USA to PI, there is revenue that is being realized from the FIL-AM couple. Not to mention other money that is flowing back to the PI from USA from this couple. I know in my relationship, we, and as I do now, will send money to help with daily living expenses for her 75 year old mother. So I think it is to keep the gravy train from falling off the tracks.
