Hello everyone,

I am about to apply for the K-1, but here is something I am not really sure about.

Am I "single" or not?

I am dating with a U.S. citizen now but in the past I dated with a Netherlander and

we used to live together in Holland under "samenwoning contract (cohabitation contract)" under Dutch law.

I had permanent blijfsvergunning (work and residential permit) in Holland which is similar to GreenCard.

We broke up around year 2008.

He made me sign on a residential removal request at the local city hall but we never

made our relationship "over" officially.

So I was wondering if I am officially "single" now since samenwoning is not marriage according to the Dutch embassy,

or do i need to arrange some paperwork?

I am afraid that i file myself to be "single" yet US immigration finds me "not single".
