New Delhi Consulate -- PCC

I've been searching the threads and it seems the New Delhi consulate only wants the PCC from the passport office (and no need for a local police certificate) regardless of age of passport. Can anyone confirm this?

Mumbai consulate allows you to bring the PCC to interview (and close the NVC case without the PCC). Does New Delhi also allow this?

Hi,

Our case is at New Delhi Consulate and we submitted PCC from passport office only while submitting documents at NVC.

They didn't ask for local police certificate. Not sure if it changes with the age of the passport.

You can always call up embassy and ask them about this requirement.

My Husband has interview in US Embassy in New Delhi soon and he will give Police Certificate from his town, and Police Clearance Certificate from Chandigarh passport office.

Better to be on safe side!

Hello,

Is it mentioned in his interview letter to get Police Certificate from local police station as well?

In my interview letter, its mentioned that you need to obtain police certificate if it was obtained more than 1 year ago.

We got our PCC from Chandigarh passport office on 15th March 2013. I visited PSK last week to get a new one, and they told me that they cannot issue me a new one, and Only after 6 months, which will be 15th Sept, they will issue a new one.

Our interview is on 16th Sept. So, we were thinking if we can do something to get a new one?

We called embassy and they mentioned that PCC from passport office is valid for 1 year. Even though they said it, we want to make sure interview is not delayed for this reason. Its been so much time already sad.png

Hello,

All it asked was to get "Passport Police Certificate", which I still don't understand because we submitted Passport Police Certificate we got from Chandigarh in Jun 2013.

Interview letter didn't ask for Local Police Certificate.

However, because there is so much confusion over this, my Husband will take Local Police Certificate and Passport Police Certificate (even though we submitted it already).

I am kinda scared over this Police Certificate / Passport Police Certificate issue because we already submitted it, and they are asking again. My Husband insists this is nothing to worry about because many of his friends have gone though this process in New Delhi before.

All we can do is pray!!!

Yes, We have been asked for Passport PCC as well in the interview. We have already submitted 2 copies of PCC.

Did you submit the PCC to NVC and now the embassy is requesting the same document again?

Yes, That's correct.

That's odd.. did you call NVC or the embassy about that?

My Apologies for the confusion.. We have not been asked to get the PCC at the interview.

Infact, following has been mentioned:

Passport Police Certificate: The NVC has already sent this document to Embassy.

Indian Police Certificate: The NVC didn't request this document.

So, basically they have not asked for more police certificate.

But, in some of the reviews here, it is mentioned that embassy asked for PCC because it was more than 6 months old. Our concern was that on 15th Sept, our PCC will be 6 months old. So, we were thinking if they might ask for a new one during interview on 16th Sept. Hence, we wanted to be prepared just in case they do.

Passport Police Certificate: The NVC has already sent this document to Embassy.

Indian Police Certificate: The NVC didn't request this document.

For us, they requested Passport Police Certificate even though

1- We already submitted it to NVC

2- We got Passport Police Certificate in Jun 2013

As for Indian Police Certificate, they also say "The NVC didn't request this document."
