Monday and Tuesday for Medical, USEM interview Thursday enough time?

Hi all,

I've scheduled my fiance's appointment for a Thursday in Manila, and was thinking of flying her in Sunday night, to do the Medical on Monday and Tuesday, CFO Wednesday, and the Embassy interview on Thursday. Is this enough time for the medical results to get to the US Embassy? Anyone else have experience working with these tight timelines?

Embassy recommends 7 - 10 days between medical and interview. There are a few that got 221G's at their interview lately because the medical file had not caught up with their embassy case file by the time of the interview, meaning there will be delays with issuing the visa. You can still do the interview just have to sit and wait afterwards.

Where's she coming from? If she has any relatives in Manila, you can let her stay with them for awhile. I suggest she take the medical exam at least 2 weeks prior to her US Embassy interview. If everything turns out fine on her medical exam, then she can attend CFO seminar while waiting for her interview date.

Took my medical exam exactly 10 days from my scheduled interview at the embassy. Since I live around the area (walking distance to St. Luke's and a good 7-min cab ride from the embassy), I didn't have a hard time going to those places. I've read a post here that she did her medical a week prior to her interview but she still got a 221g form from the consul because they haven't received her medical results just yet. Getting a 221g form may delay the issuance of your visa.

YES you can presuming nothing goes wrong with your medical it only takes 2 days or if you're done a day before your interview St. Lukes will let you hand carry your result to USEM during your interview.

As for my experience, I was ask to return after 12 days since there's sexual contact in between unsafe days and can't received shots, and i was also referred to personal evaluation because of my prescription meds which i didn't bring my cardio med. certificate during the physical exam that supports it.

If things doesn't goes smoothly on your medical you will be ask to cancel your interview and St. Luke's will be the one to reschedule it for you.

But, I didn't wait for st. luke's to schedule for me coz we're on a hurry so I re schedule myself online and was interviewed on July 30 WITHOUT vaccination. I was approved but got 221g for medical release. And because St. Luke's had typo error on my docs they have to wait for the doctor to sign in. They forward my medical on August 5 at the same time my status was changed to ISSUED. on 7th 2go picked up my visa and received in our province on Aug 8th.

Just shared my experience so you will have idea if there's some thing out of our control happened during the medical.

Hi all, Just for clarification from those that have gone through this and just were posting here. My fiancée just passed her Interview yesterday, but the CFO website says she needs here visa so they can put in a stamp directly into the visa which is required before leaving the airport. Second point, I wanted to buy my fiancée a plane ticket on Philippine airlines but they required her Visa number in order to purchase the ticket.

From what I just read in some of your posts you went to CFO seminar without Visa and passport and you also bought plane tickets.

Can you please confirm that.
thanks very much for your time and effort and best of luck to you all

That's what my fiancee went thru with K2. Monday was X-ray for her & physical exams for both and the child was given TB skin test and was told to be back Wednesday for reading. Tuesday was off for both of them. They came back Wednesday and after reading child's TB skin test (Negative results) they were both given shots and released together with their passport & sealed medical records. Thursday was embassy interview. CFO was taken cared of last month. Of note, also, when we were planning the interview she had to be aware of her "monthly visitor" and had to work around it. Best of luck to you.

Some do CFO before they do the interview then come back once the visa is issued with the certificate from CFO and have the CFO sticker affixed in the passport.

I don't know the rules for Philippines Airlines, but I didn't need the visa number when I bought the ticket for my wife on Hawaiian.

Embassy say 5-7 days before the interview for completing the medical, on their website, so I don't see any issue with what you have planned.

CFO can be done just about any time you choose, as long as you have your passport in hand.

Not sure if you still can do this, but in times past, folks would take the CFO classes without a visa, get a certificate of sorts, then show up to the airport on the day they were flying with passport in hand, and get the CFO stamp at the airport. Is this still a viable option?

You have to call the CFO office at NAIA a couple days in advance to arrange this, so I have read a couple times. I would think it would be a lot less stressful to swing by the CFO office and get it done. Took my wife about 30 minutes when she did it, read recently of a few waiting an hour.
