still waiting for nvc approval

The case of our adopted son in the Philippines is currently with the NVC. My wife is currently in the Philippines with our son while I am back in the US to expedite the NVC process, or so I thought. I sent in our Affidavit of Support and visa application with all supporting documents and after 15 business days I called and they told me I had been reviewed but I had sent in the wrong aos because I needed the I-864w instead of regular aos. ( We had sent in the regular AOS and with income tax copies etc which was about 12 pages while the I-864 w is only one page) I had read their info on the website a thousand times and had thought we could not use I-864w but I guess I was wrong. Anyway I had our son fill out the i-864w and sign and scan to me. I then sent it in to NVC. I waited about 8 business days and called them. They told me I needed to wait the 20 business days. I had hoped this would go faster as they had already reviewed and the I 864 W is only one page. I guess though, they put me at back of line and I now have to wait another 20 days. My real fear is that rather than just look and make sure I sent in the I-864 w, a new reviewer will look at it and find something the first reviewer thought was ok and new new reviewer will tell me I need to do something else. If a new reviewer looks each time this could go on forever. Of course this is made worse by the fact I have been away from my wife and son for five months now.
