Hello

I am an Indian citizen and I went through all the procedures and accepted by a known university in USA. Its J1 visa process that I am stuck at. My visa interview has been successfully passed and was told that someone will contact you in 3 weeks my classes are starting in September this year, I just called the embassy they said still under consideration. I am accepted by the program [fully paid for 4 years] then what is the problem? What if they don't give me visa and my classes starts would the university and program cancel my grant?

I am very stressed please help me

Hello Rahoul

How is it that you are on a J-1, which is for exchange, research or internship, but yet you are saying you paid for 4 years of tuition and fees I am assuming. Shouldn't' you be on a F1 visa? And what University are you studying at that required you to pay all of your money upfront? The real question should not be about your grant but about whether or not you will get your money back.

Second, I know lately the number of student visas being issued at the Embassy in India has been going down. I am not sure how many they issue now. Good luck!
