Hi Everyone, I was just looking at St. Lukes webpage about my fiancee's upcoming medical, and saw something about

Detailed medical certificate regarding a previously-treated or currently managed clinically significant illness which should contain the following information

  • duration and date of treatment
  • surgical procedure or medical intervention done
  • complete final diagnosis
  • outcome of treatment or treatment plans and prognosis, if available

Well it my fiancee had appendicitis a year ago, had it removed at a govt hospital and is not sure if she can get any records of the operation, or even if the doctor who performed it is still at the hospital where she got the operation done. Has anyone heard of this requirement? I haven't read anything about it here on VisaJourney before.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide.

I believe Rob&Ann are correct. I think they're looking for a chronic/serious illness that requires on going treatment. Your surgery was common, for the most part, and was not on going. Best of luck!!

i know ur fiancee will be fine without the appendectomy medical records.. part of gathering patient's info/data is knowing any previous hospitalizations/illnesses/surgical procedures....

but if someone had underwent TB tx (or other communicable dses that requires tx), it is impt that they bring their records which contains the info as u mentioned above.it will help the doctors decide in case they see something suspicious on their xray(or other test results).. same with vaccination record.. if it is incomplete with info, they would give the vaccine anyway.. but the appendectomy records, i know they wont need it..
