Good day.

I've been following VJ for awhile and enjoy reading the topics and subsequent replies. I'm hoping some members are able to provide CURRENT information regarding airport fees in the Philippines.

My wife (Filipino Citizen) is a Green Card holder. I'm am the USC. We have a 2 month old daughter. (USC)

Next month, we will depart from Seattle, Washington and arrive in Manila via EVA Airlines.

We will continue onward to the island of Mindanao and arrive at Laguindingan International Airport.

1/ Myself, my wife, and our daughter will arrive in Manila together. After transferring to the domestic terminal, what is the terminal fee for us? My understanding is that it's 200 PHP each for a total of 600 PHP (200 x 3 = 600 PHP). Is this correct?

2/ Are there any provisions regarding paying the terminal fee for an infant?

3/ When we return to Seattle, Washington we will depart from Laguidingan International Airport on the island of Mindanao and pay a terminal fee of 200 PHP. In addition, we will be returning with her two children, (Visa's already in hand IR1/CR1) for a total of 5. My understanding is that it's 200 PHP each for a total of 1,000 PHP (200 x 5 = 1,000 PHP). Is this correct?

Upon arrival in Manila, we will transfer from the the domestic terminal to the international terminal and fly EVA Airlines back to Seattle.

4/ It is my understanding that myself and our infant daughter will pay the 550 PHP terminal fee only. Is this correct?

5/ I'm unclear from this point forward. What fees will my wife and her two children have to pay? Will all three pay the 550 PHP terminal fee? Will each of them also pay the 1,620 PHP fee?

I'm hoping someone with similar circumstances, (or simply has flown into and out of NAIA airport RECENTLY can provide current information.

Thank you kindly in advance. I look forward to member input.

Salamat,

James

PS: I'm at work and unable to check my email if that is how responses are returned. Otherwise, I'll try to respond promptly as necessary.

Everyone pays the terminal fee of 550 Php I have never heard of an exception (maybe there is for infants or small children, don't know)

Here is the info I have on the travel tax

Thank you Hank. The travel tax is separate from the terminal fees right? Is the travel tax currently 1,620 PHP?

Thanks,

James

Correct. The terminal fee is its own animal.... that everyone that uses the terminal pays.

The travel tax or as some call it - exit fee, isn't a fee for USC... unless they stay for a year or something like that. I believe your wife can get a waiver of the travel tax the fee for that is 200 Php if memory serves.

There is info in the link I gave scroll down the left side for a list

Thanks Hank, I overlooked that link on the left side; I'll take a look at it now.

Seems like we're then looking at:

Manila - Laguindingan 200 PHP per person X 3 persons = 600 PHP (Domestic Terminal)

and

Laguindingan - Manila 200 PHP per person X 5 persons = 1,000 PHP (Domestic Terminal)

and

Manila - Seattle 550 per person X 5 persons = 2,750 PHP (International Terminal)

Total Terminal Fees For My Family (TTFFMF) = 4,350 PHP

Does your math match up with mine? :-)

during my CFO GCP, our counselor told us that soon the terminal fee will go back to P750... not sure when it will be imposed but it will happen anytime soon.

Robb&Ann,

Thank you so very much for your thorough, detailed, and helpful response; it's greatly appreciated. We appreciate your summarization of both the terminal and tourism fees. We're hoping the fare increase from 550 PHP to 750 PHP doesn't occur not just for us, but others as well.

We shall take your advice and do as you suggested.

Once again, thanks kindly for taking the time to respond.

James/Chel

My fiancee already paid the travel tax in March when we went to Thailand. Would that mean she will be exempt from paying again, since it hasn't been a year since she paid it?

hello.as far as i know your fiancee is not exempted..

I am assuming you and your fiancee went to Thailand on a vacation?

the exemption only applies IF she is a balikbayan already who stayed in the PH for less than a year.. see exemptions here

Thankfully the heat in Phoenix is a dry heat and most often not humid as is in many parts of the Philippines. Don't stay indoors, explore early mornings or late evenings. :-)
