Hi Guys,

I wanted to bring my two kids (son and daughter) from the Philippines. Problem is my son's birth certificate. My son's mothers middle name was misspelled and now are in the process of correcting it through the local registry. I was told that it takes 3 months to get the NEW UPDATED birth certificate from NSO.

Now, since i am the father trying to petition my son, I do not think that this will be an issue because I believe the Immigration officer will look at the relationship between the petitioner and the beneficiary, right? I am thinking the the officer might not even notice it but what I intend to do is to submit the application anyway and include a letter about the pending NSO correction and promise that I will submit later on. I am thinking this might cause an RFE but at least the petition is already submitted.

Any thoughts on this?

Thank you in advance.
