Hi All,

I have a doubt regarding the affidavit of support which I need to submit during my K1 visa interview.

As per my understanding, for K1 visa, the affidavit of support form is I-134. But in Mumbai US embassy site, they mention to submit I-864.

Please let me know which form I need to carry for my K1 visa interview, I-134 or I-864

Regards,

Vysakh.

I was confused about this as well because on the New Delhi embassy website it seems like we're supposed to use the I-864 for K1. But, then I looked into more and I found the packet 3 and 4 links for the K1 visa. On the checklist it asks for I-134 which is the one that we're supposed to use. These are the links for Packet 3 and 4 at New Delhi - I imagine they must be similar to Mumbai. Good luck!!

You need to submit form I-134 for Mumbia Consulate and presume it should be the same for Delhi Consulate too. Ideally form I-864 should be submitted when filing for AOS. Please check the link below for your reference.

Normally, the I-134 is required for the K-1 visa. However, you should submit the form specifically requested by the Consulate. The U.S. Consulate will inform you about the list of forms and documents you need. If the consulate tells you to take I-864, then take I-864.

Here are some helpful links about I-134 and I-864:

When I called the embassy people, they told to access the documents online through the site mentioned in the appointment letter.
