NOA 1 received at Chicago Lockbox on March 25th 2013. I am wondering how long it is typically taking and if anyone has recently been approved that could shed some light.

My wife is petitioning for me and there is some information on certain threads that suggest if you both live outside the US they are trying to expedite those. Is there any truth to that.

I know that I am early in the process but just trying to get any idea, which I know is tough. The inconsistency of approvals make it so hard to plan and when you as many of you know are trying to move a family, is so frustrating trying to plan there schooling and work for the parents.

Also question on I864. My wife has been residing here in the Bahamas with me since we were married back in 2000. As a result none of us have income in the US. We have our house in the Bahamas that is valued at more than enough to meet the requirements, but I have read conflicting reports on whether they will allow us to use that as assets, we have it for sale and should it sell, we will have the cash. Also want to mention that the house is solely in my name, reason is I owned the property before we got married and started building before as well. In the Bahamas if you want to add persons, even your spouse to the title you have to pay a 10% stamp tax to the government even though there is no money changing hands.

Any thoughts on any of this welcome.
