your I-129f would have been filed with a Service Center, not NVC. you should be receiving a NOA1. that's the first step. You can check the bank to see if the check has been cashed. If so, you'll know the Service Center has received your petition.

You have asked several questions.

1) You have not filed for the K-1 visa yet. You have filed an I-129F petition which is the first phase of the application process. Once you have an approved petition and it has been transferred to your foreign consulate, then and only then will you be allowed to actually apply for the visa.

2) If your petition was submitted to NVC then that was the wrong location. It should have been filed with one of the 4 USCIS service enters (Vermont, Nebraska, Texas or California). The correct service center to file at is determined based on the USC place of residence.

3) If you file the petition at the Nebraska or Texas service center it will be transferred automatically to California.

4) Upon receipt of a properly filed case, the USCIS service center will open a case number and send you via postal service a Notice of Action (NOA), informing you of receipt of your case and your case number. This will be sent to the USC or possibly your attorney.

5) Processing times vary greatly. Vermont can process a case in less than 30 days. California will process in 60-90 days. When your case is approved, the service center will issue a second Notice of Action.

6) Once your case is approved at the service center, then it is transferred to NVC for additional processing. The processing time at NVC can be up to 30 days or so (sometimes faster, sometimes slower).

7) After completion at NVC then the file is transferred to the foreign consulate and then and only then can the actual visa application process begin.

YMMV
