Update of service centre in timeline?

Morning all,

Can i get some clarification please?

We are one of the many people that have had our case transferred from Vermont to Texas on the 29th May 2013. Still undecided if this is a good thing or not after reading most of the posts on the subject.

Anyway....our timeline was originally Vermont....which then after reading people saying 'update your timeline to Texas'....I changed it to Texas...

But am now reading others saying it should stay to the original service centre as it mucks up the figures???

Do I have Vermont or Texas as my service centre on our Timeline?

For selfish reasons I want it to say Texas as that makes our estimated approval jump forward to end of June....whereas Vermont was 15th July.....

Any thoughts????

Timeline

Do not do this. It says clearly in the timeline to keep it set to original center even if you're transferred.

Switching it only screws up the timeline calculations and doesn't help anyone.

If it makes you feel better to have a wildly inaccurate timeline estimate, then go ahead and switch, but it won't make your NOA2 come any faster no matter what VJ timeline tells you.

TSC does not usually process K1 visas, thus any timeline estimates at TSC will be extremely inaccurate.

My thoughts are VJ predictions are based on approvals from others at the same service center. Changing to Texas will not give you an accurate estimate. Why do I think this?

1) Because Texas hasn't been processing I-129Fs for some time, so there is no recent historical data. Your cases might start a data trend when approved, but it's not there now to benefit you with a prediction.

2) The data for TSC is probably due to people thinking Texas Lockbox filing is the same as Texas Service Center. Nope. So they choose TSC when they set up their timeline, and were actually processed at VSC or CSC, while their approval get attributed to TSC data.

Thanks a lot for the feed back. I've got it set as Vermont now and will wait my turn.

Hope other people read this and put theirs back to Vermont as well.
