Hi everyone

I am an Australian and am trying to apply for a J-1 12 month Working Holiday visa which is a special type of J1 for Australians and New Zealanders. I have obtained a DS-2019 form from a sponsor and am ready to apply for my visa, but I am travelling in Europe and was hoping to go directly to the US from here.

My first plan was to apply from Zagreb, Croatia, as I will be spending a couple of weeks there, but I called the consulate today and the lady on the phone was quite curt and unenthusiastic about my chances of getting the visa there. Does anyone have any experience with these things, or have any insight into my chances of getting the visa issued somewhere in Europe?
