We have been approved for our petition, we are now waiting for the NVC to do there bit. we are wondering when will we be able to apply for our medical ?

You're applying in London? You can call up and book a medical as soon as the beneficiary has their LDN number. It'll come in the post from the Embassy, or if you think they likely already have your file, you can call NVC and see if they'll give it to you.

Most people wait for the letter (Packet 3 - it's the one with the instructions to the beneficiary telling them how to apply for their visa). You don't want to have the medical before London has your case (else they'll have a hard time reconciling medical results with a case they don't yet have).

Yes - but I'd not have it be like, next week or anything You'll need to pad the time out that it'll take for London to get your file - at least 2 or 3 weeks out.

Packet 3 is basically the LDN number and a link to this website with the instructions: http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

Er.. I assume your timeline is out of date and you're not really planning a wedding for June 8th (or the month/day has been transposed and it's actually 6th August?).
