Thank you Azsara, you were the only one that was really understanding my point. My fiance {HE}, is not as organized as I am but can do it if necessary. So basically I was wanting to see the norm not that gender mattered. I am still new at this and still learning.

It really doesn't matter who is the most organized, there are portions that each person must handle. Yes, one person is likely to be best at learning the rules and steps and all, and will likely have to help the other with their parts (I did that in our personal case), but there are parts that I cannot do and she must, and there are things that she cannot do that I must. It truly takes both people working together to get through the entire process.

This question may have been asked before but I am going to ask it anyway... I am the USC and will one day file on behave of my fiance. My question is for all of you filers, who was the person most trusted to file the papaerwork ie. the man or the woman? I do not ask to be prejudice but to prevent any delays and for accuracy purposes. Is it based on the more knowledeable person or do the woman primarily do all the filing and just leave the man up to the signing? unsure.pngunsure.png

Really? rofl.gif

Hey OP, I get that you weren't trying to be offensive, but for future reference just try to understand that the way you worded your question comes off sexist and demeaning to many readers. Again, I know it wasn't your intent, but that's why many readers reacted strongly to what you wrote. Just keep in mind how you phrase things.

You have your answer already: USC must file the I-129F. Work together as a team and help each out as much as possible. As the beneficiary, you'll have more work to do after the I-129F gets approved. Both of you will have to supply things for all stages, of course!

Best of luck.

I am the USC/petitioner.

I understand your position and appreciate the candor. I am the organized one and happen to be the petitioner and the "nagging" one also so I am taking the lead in this process. My fiance has a laid back attitude and waits untll the last minute for everything so this has truly been an exercise in patience for me so far. As previously suggested by the other posters I suggest whomever is the organizer and task-oriented one should take the lead on this one just for the sake of peace and to avoid any headaches. My fiance is great at talking me "off the ledge" when I am overwhelmed so it balances out in the end.

Good Luck!dancin5hr.gif

Oh Praise god for your response. I was just telling my fiance today that I think I will just fill out the paperwork because he does not wait until the last minute but after the last minute.ranting33va.gif He is always so busy and in every place. I have learned to be patient as well..still learning!

Thank you but again all people have to do it read. I was very clear. Also it would not have mattered how I worded it VJ is a wonderful resource but many people on here are very rude and unChristlike when we are all in the same boat. Hard on the newbies we are asking out of ignorance to the more experienced people which is the way it should be...tolerance I see! My mom used to say...if you don't have nothing nice to say...then don't say nothing at all. Thank you

Honestly, your post was not very clear when it comes to it's sexist/gendered language. Being respectful and correct wording is very important - especially on the internet where it is hard to deduce intent from words alone. I am not trying to berate you or anything, but just wanted to make you aware that your post was worded in a way that was offensive to some readers so that you might better understand some of the hostile responses and approach a post with a bit more delicacy next time. For example, ask if the USC or the beneficiary filled out more paperwork rather than assuming couples adhere to stereotyped gender roles.

Also, most people on VJ are not rude - it's the opposite. Most of us on here are eager to help, supportive and patient with one another. Many of us may not be Christlike, but there are hundreds of religions and non-religions to appreciate on here. Yes, some people can be rude (whether naturally or because of a bad day), but they are not the majority on this forum.

in our Petition, my Fiance (USC) and I both participated in organizing our first packet.

Since my fiance has most of the evidence of meeting in person, like the passport stamps, luggage tags, receipts, flight boarding passes, itineraries;

so he was the one who compiled those. He scanned, saved and uploaded in Google drive.

And for me, since my fiance is working and i am not, I did the compilations of the chat logs, pictures of meeting in person, call logs, remittances receipts,etc..

I also made the draft of the forms we will be needing

then we put all these docs in Google Drive where both of us can access the files then edit what needs to be edited, reviewed, finalized then printed.

then the other docs that needs to be sent from my country were shipped just in time then my fiance compiled all the papers then sent to USCIS.

Google drive helped us a lot esp in reviewing our papers... we can both at the same time open a file then discuss then finalize.. both of us sees what one put on the form and if it is right or wrong..or if it needs to be edited, etc.. so I think Google drive and the likes helps a lot.. atleast one would not wonder what the other put on his/her form before printing or signing.

So for those who are just starting in compiling their first packet, Google drive and the likes is what i can recommend to use

amen I will check it out good idea nd resource thank you dear!
