well i am so frustrated.

my fiance filed petition in july 5th and could not hear anything until september.

(i think they haven't checked until we called several times 'cause they kept saying they don't know where our petition is)

they said we used only form so we have to send all the documents again using the new form.

so we revised it with the new form and sent that to the service center agian.

at the end of september, he got the notice saying that the service center got our petition.

but the check was never cashed. (what is going on???)

moreover, we got the number only consists of 4 numbers. what does this mean?

he called the service center 2 weeks ago but could not hear anything from them.

we have not heard anything from the service center, what should we do?

could hiring lawyer be helpful?

any opinions would be helpful . thanks

I hope someone more experienced here on VJ will jump in, but it sounds like your second stab at applying has gone wrong as well. Your case number should not be just four numbers, and not cashing the check is not a hopeful sign either. Just sending in the wrong fee can get your package rejected...

Can you have your fiance double check what he/she sent in against the guides on this site?

When you say he/she received notice the service center had gotten your packet in September, did he/she get that notice from the postal service or the California Service Center and an actual NOA1 form?

Sorry you two are having so much trouble, but just guessing you may need to provide a little more information before anyone can really help.

Good luck!

Your Application Receipt Number (case number) from USCIS should be 13 characters long and start with "WAC". What notice did your fiance get? Was it a "Notice of Action" letter? If so, then there should be a Application Receipt Number on it.

11/06/2006 - Mailed off I-129F

11/14/2006 - NOA1

02/01/2007 - NOA2
