Priority date reached? Will it expire ?

I found your website while trying to find answer for my worries regarding my immigrant visa application.

I am a Filipino born nurse and became a British citizen naturally. I applied for EB-3 visa using an AGENCY and my priority date has been reached last December 2012. My agency informed me that NVC made an appointment for my interview last Feb 2013 but was forced to cancel the interview since I do not have a confirmed placement. My agency told me that they need to find me a confirmed placement first then they will RE -SCHEDULE my interview. My question is, how long will US EMBASSY wait for me for the interview. How long they will hold my PRIORITY DATE? Will it expire? I have waited years until my priority date is reached and hopefully my agency will be able to find job for me soon.
Thank you so much.
