Sorry for all the questions, I've had a few lately. Some background in case you didn't see my other posts, I'm awaiting finalization on my divorce (which has taken a year, sigh), and hope to finally file my 129F in June. So I have no timeline since I haven't filed yet.

My worries are mostly about how long it all takes, because I've already been with my fiance but apart from him for 2 years and am horrified about the idea of having to wait a third to get him here.

Anyway, I see that the last time the uscis page for the csc was last updated Feb. 28th, and is reporting July 18th as the last date anyone got their noa2. Yet I have seen people on here, who filed at the csc in august and october, get their noa2's recently. So my question is, is that july figure somewhat outdated? Is the site likely to update any time soon? They ARE still processing k1's, right? Also, are there more rfe's coming through now than perviously?

Sorry for so many questions about this. I'm just so desperate to be with him permanently. I hope they speed up processing these again. The last time I checked before now was January and csc was averaging 110 days then.

One little warning I will offer, is you are supposed to have met within the past 2 years. They can ask for proof, but didn't in my case! Do be aware of this.

My partner and I filed in June last year. I have a flight booked on the 21st of this month, which I shouldn't have as I haven't received my visa yet, despite being told it was approved at the interview. So we've been apart almost a year since applying.

The top tip I will give, is make sure you submit all documents, and get all letters signed by a notary! This added time onto my application which was a pain.

The initial wait was 6 months(to the day!), then of course the wait for medical then consulate interview.

Ha, no problem with the meeting within 2 years! He comes here every 3-4 months (and just left yesterday from his most recent visit.) His visit dates are listed in my signature, : ) We have tons of proof, photos, his passport stamps, reciepts, boarding passes etc. . When I say apart, I mean living apart.

I'm just confused because I see that the one site never changes and there seems to be a vast array of when people say they got approved. And is it true that if it goes beyond 5 months I can contact my congressman for help? Or do I need to wait 7 months?

We hope to finish this by March because of other reasons besides missing eachother...his job ends in March. : / If we apply in June and haven't heard by December, would we be able to get it pushed forward to avoid him being stuck there with no job (which lessens his ability to save money to come here with, obviously).

The dates posted on USCIS are sorta worst case scenarios. Many move on through. If they post a date, then until you get beyond that, they can answer you or your Congressman with "you are still within normal processing times.". Here's some areas you might not have found yet on VJ.

The graphs show how the times can change with the months. Why? More applications coming in? Other application types that they shift workers to and off K1s? The point is they can change. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1historical

After the petition Is approved, you have the additional time it takes at your consulate. You can find a graph showing the London processing on this page http://www.visajourney.com/content/consulate-k1-historical. See how the processing time changes?

Igor's list http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?cfl=

See by months who with a VJ timeline is approved, who is still waiting. Some people drift off and don't bother to update their timeline, so it's not perfect, but gives you an idea of where you stand in the mix and how those around your time are faring.

His job has no effect on your visa timeline. Submitting a carefully prepared application so you don't get delayed by an RFE is a bonus. Planning ahead for the London part so you have your ducks in a row before you get their instructions will allow you to submit your applications to them the day they say "Go". Otherwise you wouldn't even start preparing until you got their instructions. Here's the London thread with a list of things to do when your NOA2 is about to be approved. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/ Also farther down in that thread are copies of the letter London sends, links to the instructions they will send you, and many tips scattered throughout. Worry about getting your I-129F perfect and sent, then start reading and planning for the London part. It's too soon to prepare that now, but remember it for while you wait the petition approval.

Thanks so much for all of this info! I'm currently trying to not get too ahead of myself and fill in the 129F before I have my divorce hearing next week, in case it all gets delayed again. (I know I can't mail it yet, I just mean fill it out.) It's unbearably hard to be patient after all this time, but I'm trying. : )
