I am in the process of removing condition but my son's birth cerificate is still in my wife's father's name. My wife had my child while I was in my native country so when she gave birth, her child took her father's name. Now, I am here, we have applied for a new cerfificate in my own name but we still waiting for it to arrive...I have to months left to submit my I-751 document.

What do I do? Submit the document the way it is, that is with my son bearing my wife's last name???

Anxiously waiting to hear from you.

Thanks.

You have a right to name your child anything you want. It is your right as a human being. I would not sweat this but I would be ready to be asked questions regarding this.

I have a daughter with my ex-husband but I kept our last name for cultural reasons. I love my ethnic last name and I gave my daughter the same one

...that is what I am saying; for example,

my name is Jone (1st name) Tony (2nd name) Edger (last name);

The name on my son's certificate is Tony (1) Julian(2) Thomas (Last my wife father's name)

Because I was not here in the US when my had him,

my wife used my second name for our son's first name.

Now, my son's new cetificate is beaing processed and I am running out of time.

Anxious fellow....

My name is not on the certificate as the father because I was not here to sign hospital papers.
