Hi everyone,

So I paid my AOS 6 business days ago. I have contacted the NVC and they are saying that it will remain IN PROCESS for everyone until they can fix the problem however, there is no specific timeframe. The woman on the phone stated that I can use a blank sheet of printer paper and put on it:

NVC Case #

Petitioner's name

Petitioner's birthday

Beneficiary's name

Beneficiary's birthday

***The women on the phone said she could guarantee this wouldn't delay the process and that it would not alter the case.

Can anyone please tell me if I should do this? I am considering sending it tomorrow if it isn't too risky.

Thanks for any and all help!

That sounds weird, but OK. I have been in correspondence with them today. I was noticing that I and many others were having trouble with the site. The NVC was aware of it but the representative I talked to at the DOS wasn't until I spoke to her. I think a lot of people have been calling and they had a meeting about what to do.

I would go ahead and send the AOS package with a cover sheet (do it on your computer if you can to make it very clear). On the cover sheet also write or type that you were advised to use that format by an NVC representative because of the malfunctioning payment portal website. Since you are sending copies of transcripts and copies of tax forms, rather than originals, it will not harm anything. Just make sure you keep copies for yourself as well.

I would not worry about the payment. If it has cleared your bank, it will show as paid to the DOS and the NVC and your case will be processed. It's just not showing as paid on the website we can access.
