So we're about to send our IR1 petition and I thought I'd run it by you guys, please let me know if you think we need to add something else in there as well.

We both live in Finland right now, no DCF available.

Here's what we are sending:

0. Cover letter

1. Completed and signed form I-130

2. I-130 filing fee (personal check of $420)

3. Completed and signed form G-325A and photograph (petitioner)

4. Completed and signed form G-325A and photograph (beneficiary)

5. Proof of petitioner's U.S citizenship: Copy of U.S Passport and copy of birth certificate

6. Proof of Relationship

Primary evidence - Copy of marriage certificate

Secondary evidence - "our story"-letter, copy of lease which is in both of our names, copy of our engagement announcement from the local U.S newspaper, photographs from our trips, wedding, honeymoon together etc.

7. Completed form G-1145 for email/phone notification

Questions:

- Are we missing anything?

- Do we need to send copies of the forms in addition to the originals? We'll keep copies for ourselves.

- Do we need to send a copy of the beneficiary's equivalent of birth certificate at this point?

- Do we need to explain our plans to establish domicile in the U.S at this point?

- I-130 Question B-15, employment. Is this a question for the petitioner or the beneficiary?

Thank you for your help everyone, we really appreciate it!

1, Looks good; the lease is great. Have more secondary evidence if you can, but what you have is not bad. Try utility bills, insurance together, something you filed with work saying you are now married, etc.

2. No, just keep the copies for yourself.

3. No, send the beneficiary's BC only if you are asked for it.

4. No, domicile stuff happens later when you file your Affidavit of Support.

5. Holy #######, that's the worst compositing job I've ever seen in a life of being a publisher. I'm not sure we did this correctly. We were approved anyway. :)

Thank you speedwell, much appreciated! I'll see if we have anything else in both of our names, maybe the travel insurance is.

As for the confusing I-130 Question B-15, employment. Those of you who filed recently, did you write the petitioner's employment or the beneficiary's?

Thanks again!

Ellinora, I'm sorry I did not respond sooner. Question 15 refers to the beneficiary's employment. Since our I-130 was approved, I guess we did it correctly! :)
