I'm posting hoping someone can give me some direction on where to turn. My husband and I were on track to get a CR-1 for him to come to the US from the UK. Everything was fine up until is interview when we found that they required a more detailed record than he had. We sent that in with his passport and received a formal denial siting a misunderstanding with his ESTA. So we're now heading down the waiver route.

The real problem here is he sent them his passport over 5 months ago and now has tried calling the US Embassy in london and emailing and has been unable to contact anyone. He needs his passport back!! They make it impossible to get a hold of anyone! We don't know who we can turn to or where to go to get it back now. Any help greatly appreciated.

No idea how you go about it, but i know that it is possible to get a second passport. Maybe it is worth applying for one if you are desperate and getting nowhere with the embassy? Obviously though it doesn't help speed up the visa. Not sure how to do that....
