Last week I received my first I-797 notice scheduling my biometrics appointment. I successfully did a walk-in yesterday. Surprisingly, I received another I-797 today showing the same appointment date as the first notice. Has anyone here had similar experience before? I assume these two are the same, although sent on different days. The USCIS online case inquiry matches the first notice.

It was probably just a duplicate in error. Either way since you did an early bio it should be fine. good.gif

Thank you for your response. I notice that you completed the entire journey successfully within a very short time period. Is it common in SF area? I thought California has even more population than New York - am I expected to have everything done in 3-4 months as well?

Same thing happened to me except that I received THREE letters instead of one.......

The first one I got is titled "Biometrics Notification", came from the National Benefits Center, zipcode 64063, and it was sent on the same day that my USCIS case status said it was sent. I did a walk-in fingerprints with that one.

Then a day later I got TWO letters, titled "ASC appointment notice", both coming from the Texas Service Center, zip code 75149, sent 2 days after my USCIS case status said it was sent, and both saying exactly the same thing, giving me an appointment the same day as the first letter but a different time. I will just ignore these new letters... Clearly there is some lack of communication between these two offices.

It depends where you filed. If you filed in NY it may be longer. In San Francisco & San Jose they seem to be in warp speed processing N-400 applications (less than 3 months from filing to Oath), but Southern California seems to be a month or so behind. It helps to check out different N-400 filing groups to kind of gauge how others are doing. I'm in the January N-400 group. Good luck on your journey! blush.gif
