I-864 Back taxes

Hi all,

I know this may have been covered but didn't find anything relating to back taxes. I am filling out I-864 AOS for my spouse in Israel and have a few questions about supporting documentation. I intend on providing my tax returns w/ W-2 and 1099 for years 2010 and 2011. I didn't work a full year in 2010 so the income may not be enough but I definitely meet the minimum requirement for 2011 and 2012.

1. For 2012, I have not completed filing my taxes on time and am requesting an extension today. Because I didn't complete it on time and cannot pay the full amount owed, I will be requesting an extension w/ a payment plan as I will not be able to pay the total lump sum. Does it matter if I owe the IRS roughly $7,500 in back taxes for the taxable year of 2012? I made well over the 125% poverty requirement. (Essentially, I would provide everything for years 2010,2011 and my W-2, 1099, letter from employer, 6 months pay stubs and tax extension notice for 2012.)

Also, for 2012 I filed as an individual. I doubt the extension will be an issue as it looks like they mainly care about income and not what is owed. Also, if necessary I can provide an I-864 w/ supporting documentation from my parents for their income for the past 3 years. Really having a hard time determining if I should include my parents I-864 w/ supporting documentation or if I should just submit my own.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
