I'm at the step when I need to submit DS-230 with accompanying documents.

The beneficiarie's country of brith is different from the country of residence therefore it is not in the language where interview will be held, and therefore it needs to be translated. It says that the translation needs to be certified. I have confirmed that it needs not to be notarized but only certified by any translator. My question is can I, the petitioner certify the translation? I already had translated the birth certificate and certified it when I was submitting I-130 package to the USCIS. Or can I write any person't name?

I wouldn't write "any person's name". That sounds a bit like lying, and if they catch on to that, the visa could be denied and the beneficiary could get banned from the States. You can translate it, and attach a signed statement saying you are a competent translator and everything in the translation is correct to your knowledge. It doesn't have to be anything fancy. good.gif

I agree. But I just don't want to delay process if they won't like my (petitioner's) name on the translation.

Then get a friend to do it.
