quick question guys,

I have been a student for the past 7 years (undergrad and grad school). I finish my medical school soon and I have a residency (medical training) already lined up. I have not earned anything for the past 7 years apart from accumulating loans. now if i have a letter proving that I will have a job, will that be sufficent or will i still need a joint sponsor.

seconldy, if i need to get a joint sponsor, do i still need to submit my tax returns?

If you filed taxes submit the tax transcripts. If you did not, you need to provide the proof as to why you did not have to file taxes, usually IRS papers stating such.

A letter is not good enough at all. You must prove you can sponsor the person, if you have no income and don't meed the requirements you need a joint sponsor who can meet the requirements.
