Hi guys,

I am a USC currently living with my wife in Singapore. She's from Vietnam. She's going back to Vietnam next month to collect all the paperwork we will need for the IV package (DS-230). I would like to confirm with you if the following lists are enough for the IV package or should we get more ?

  1. Certified copy of marriage certificate + translation
  2. Certified copy of birth certificate + translation
  3. Police certificate (Phieu ly lich tu phap so 2) + translation
  4. Immunization record + translation

About the police certificate, do you also need "Phieu ly lich tu phap so 1" also or just "so 2" ?

Please kindly help us review and let us know if there are anything missing from this list so that we can collect them during my wife's trip next month. Thank you very much for your kind helps

These are what I submitted with the DS-230

1. Bar-coded cover sheet

2. Completed and signed DS-230 Part I, and completed but not signed part II

3. Two passport photos with Beneficiary's full name, DOB, and case #

4. Certified and photocopy of Marriage Certificate

5. Certified and photocopy of Beneficiary's Birth Certificate

6. Photocopy of the biographic data page of the Beneficiary's passport

7. Orignal and photocopy of Police Certificate #2 (We submitted #1 as #2 was not required at that time, and we have to get #2 for interview)

Make sure all documents that not in English must be translated to English.

Best of luck to you and your wife.

Cheers.

Vu

I don't know about that since I am still at the NVC stage. But just to be safe, I will only mail out the certified copy. It's way too risky to mail out the originals considering how unreliable postal service is nowadays.
