I was reading an embassy interview somewhere for a K1 visa and read that when the beneficiary told the consular officer that he is a highly skilled worker (Information Technology) and had a job offer ready in the US pending work authorization--the consular officer told him she is issuing him the visa. Now, I am exactly not quite sure if the fact that he had a job offer in the USA may have in part influenced the consular officer's decision. Or the consular officer has probably already made up her mind anyway because the couple have obviously had all the documentation and successfully proved an ongoing relationship.

Now coming to my issue, I am a qualified accountant and when I was in India I worked for a couple of high profile American firms as part of working for a business process outsourcing firm. In fact I was successfully able to get a 10 year B1/B2 visa to the US precisely because I was working for those American firms.

My fiancee knows a family friend who owns an accounting firm in the US. Apparently my fiancee talked about my accounting experience and qualification and the family friend suggested that he would be interested to look at my resume and work profile. Now, I will be sending in my work profile soon to my fiancee so that she can hand it over to her accountant friend. My question is this, if that accountant friend is impressed with my credentials and showcases interest in hiring me pending my visa approval ---can I get some kind of a letter to that effect to carry at the time of my embassy interview? And more importantly do you think such an offer letter from an US employer will have any kind of a positive impact at all at the embassy interview?

I look forward to the member's valuable inputs/suggestions as always.

Cheers.

Just my opinion but I am not sure how it can really help since, as a K1 visa holder, you will not have authorisation to work for several months at least.
