My fiance and I recently filed for the I-129F for the K1 Visa (He is American and I am Canadian). We sent the form to the Dallas address the last week of January 2013. Our check was cashed about 5 days later. We have been waiting now for about a month and have not received anything back. Is this pretty typical or should we have gotten back a receipt right after they cashed our check? We (now very regrettably)forgot to include the text/email option for this. I am worried that it has been lost in the mail. My fiance is in the Marines and did not have a mailing address at the time we sent in the I-129F. He put his home address as the return address on the envelope that we mailed, but put a physical address on the form itself. So far, his mom has not gotten anything in the mail at his home address. What should we do? Is it normal to take a few months to get a receipt even after the check has cleared? Thanks to anyone who can help!
