Except I wouldn't exactly call them "boneheads." They know exactly what they're doing -- deliberately putting another country's interests above that of our own, no matter what the cost to the United States.

The USA can survive without Israel. We can't survive without foreign oil. That much is pretty obvious.

Unfortunately the politics involved are much more complicated. I don't think the Middle East will embrace America if we abandoned Israel though. It's way too late for that to happen. Too much water has passed under the bridge for that to happen.

Irregardless of Israel and Woosley...the USA is still up sh!t creek without a paddle. We import 60% of our oil (this will only worsen with time), our sprawling American suburban economy survives on cheap plentiful oil, and nobody in government has a viable long term solution if that goes away. They all hope they are gone from office when the chickens come to roost.
