Hello,

My fiance is a US Citizen who's been in the military until 2011, and was unemployed for the first half of 2012 (he's working in a permanent position for the past 6 months now and we have a letter from his employer and his pay stubs to prove it). We are preparing my K1 visa interview and are wondering if given his circumstances we still need to provide his tax returns for the past 3 years.

Thanks!

There are various opinions on what isn't and what is necessary for the I-134. My understanding was that 3 years worth of tax returns was not necessary for the K-1 visa stage but it WILL be required for Adjustment of Status. Of course, if you feel you need more proof to prove income status or want to make extra sure you have all information that you could be possibly asked for, the most recent tax return (2011) is sufficient.

K1 Visa approved after 7 months and 24 days :D:) <3

Please, please, please, let me get what I want! ...got it [almost!] next step visa interview!
