Answer to AOS application, yes to being charged with crime

I answered yes to one of the AOS questions.

The one that goes: Have you ever been chraged with a crime etc.

They want a separate page detailing the incident.

Does anyone know what sort of details I need to go into.

Basically I have told them that I was charged with the crime (and what the crime was) and that the charges were dropped when I appeared in court.

Sound I be more detailed in my explanation?

Thanks to anyone who has faced this situation and can offer some advice.

12/16/2006--------Recieved NOA 1 (I-130 & I-485)

12/18/2006--------Touched I-130/I-485

01/20/2007--------Biometrics

05/10/2007 -- Interview, Approved!

05/22/2007 GREEN CARD arrives!!!

02/2009 - File to lift conditions

I-765

12/14/2006--- Mailed EAD App.

01/20/2007--- Biometrics

02/09/2005-------Sent in request to Congressional office for assistance with expediting EAD.

02/13/2007 -------- EAD Approved!

02/26/2007 - ------EAD received

Removal of Conditions:

05/12/2009 -- Overnighted application by USPS express mail (VSC).

05/14/2009 -- Green Card expired.

05/23/2009 --- Check cleared bank.

05/26/2009 -- Received NOA (NOA date May 15, 2009, guess they aren't deporting me).

05/29/2009- Biometrics Notice date

06/01/2009- Received Biometrics Letter

06/18/2009 - Biometrics

09/23/2009 - date of decision to approve (letter received), just waiting for card. No online updates whatsoever.

Do you have any court papers you could send with the AOS.

Showing them that it was dropped.

K-1/K-2 VISA'S APPROVED IN MONTREAL MAY 2, 2005

K-1/K-2 AOS APPROVED IN ATLANTA MAY 17, 2006

10 year GC Approved - APRIL 16th ,2009 - Peggy and Jonathan's......

Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.

No, I don't, I was not even guilty of the crime.

I may have a police report from the city it occured in(somewhere in storage) showing that I have no convictions, but had negative police activity.

I can't even remember what year it occured in, it was so long ago.

It must not be on your record then.

I wouldnt worry to much about it, if you explained it on a sheet of paper.

They might ask you about it at the interview, but if its not on your police record, I wouldnt really stress over it. Thats really what they go by.
