Greetings  , Okay I called New Delhi Embassy. I asked if I could attend my fiance' interview, for support.. He said "its up to the Embassy" .... Then I said, " I am U.S. Citizen"... Then he said okay, no problem, just go inside the Embassy.. But the discretion is up to the Embassy... blah blah blah... :bonk: , I only thing I know is that I am blessed and Highly Favor... I have my ticket and my Indian Visa... and Lord be willing, I will be bringing him back with me...:rofl: , Anyway... Happy Monday B-)

Don't be shocked if when your fiance's token is called if the CO waves you off at first, then calls you up later! It's at the discretion of CO if they want to talk to you. Heck, you may just end up sitting for the whole thing if the case is extremely straight forward and the CO has no questions for you. But, with out a doubt, you are able to attend!

The person you spoke to is not a direct Embassy employee, he was from VFS. All calls are now attended by VFS and they just read the verbatim provided to them. They are as good as rock when it comes to getting information out of them...

You will not be allowed to attend the Interview, it would be of great moral boost to your man, but they will ask you to step away from the line before you enter the embassy. This is from my experience at the Mumbai consulate.

All the very best and hope you go back to US with loads of gifts and your husband too :)

This is from my experience at the Mumbai consulate.

India is one of the countries where things are different at different consulates. There is no problem with the US citizen attending the interview in New Delhi. Mumbai manages their visa section differently and in general will not allow a US citizen in for the interview. As the OP and fiance are going through New Delhi, they should have no problem. Please also keep in mind that the consulate can change its protocols however they feel, whenever they feel. So, what is allowed this month can change next!
